Your Phone Is Your Copilot
The real point of having a map and finding a location is to get somewhere else. In the old days, you’d use your eyeballs to plot your route or rely upon directions from an acquaintance or a friendly local. With your Android phone, you tap the Route icon and you have a list of directions handy. The phone can even guide you on your way.
Setting your Home and Work locations :
Two places you visit most frequently in the real world are where you live and where you work. You can preset these locations in the Maps app, which helps with navigation features. Follow these directions:
1)In the Maps app, tap the Side Menu icon to display the navigation drawer.
2)Choose Your Places.
4)Type your home address.
As you type, matching addresses appear in a list. As a shortcut, select one that represents your home location.
6)Type your work address.
Or you can set a place you frequent, such as your social club, church, or favorite pub.
7)When the two locations are set, tap the Back navigation icon to return to the Maps app.
The Home and Work addresses work as shortcuts when you use the Maps app to get directions. That topic is covered next.
- If you choose home or Work from the Your Places menu, you see that location displayed in the Maps app.
- You can type Home or Work in the Maps app search box to instantly view those locations.
