how to add a print service on your smartphone

Android phones have the capability to print information, which is another form of file transfer. To get printing to work properly, you must have printers available on the same Wi-Fi network as the phone – plus, you must install a print service compatible with those network printers.

Head these directions to confirm or add a print service to your phone:

1 ) Open the Settings app and choose the Printing category.

You see a list of print services. You’re looking for a service that matches the printer models on the Wi-Fi network. For example, the HP Print Service Plugin, which lets you print to any networked HP printer.

2 ) If you don’t see the proper printer service listed, choose Add Service.

The Play Store app opens, listing available printing services.

3 ) Choose and install a print service.

For example, if you use Canon printers, choose and install the Canon Print service.

After the service is installed, or if you confirm that the service is available, you can print from your Android phone. Keep reading in the next section.

Printing :

When printing services are available (refer to the preceding section), printing on an Android phone works similarly to printing on a computer. Follow these steps:

1 ) View the material you want to print.

You can print a web page, photo, map, or any number of items.

2 ) Tap the Action Overflow.

Some Samsung phones use the MORE button in place of the Action Overflow icon.

3 ) Choose Print.

If you don’t see the Print action, your phone lacks this feature or the material cannot be printed.

4 ) Select a printer.

The current printer is shown on the action bar, as illustrated in Figure 18-4. If that’s not the printer you want to use, tap the action bar to view printers available on the currently connected Wi-Fi network.

5 ) To change any print settings, tap the Show more Details chevron.

The items presented let you set which pages you want to print, change the number of copies, and make other common printer settings.

6 ) Tap the Print button.

The item prints.

In addition to being on the same Wi-Fi network as the phone, the printer must be on, stocked with the proper paper, and ready to print.
